Welcome to Shrink Wrapping Machines Source
Shrink wrapping machines apply film around or over a variety of objects and materials to improve their protection or their presentation. Shrink wrapping machinery comes in a wide variety of models designed for different purposes.
Shrink wrapping is a very versatile process that can be used in a huge number of industries including pharmaceuticals, beverages and food, publishing and cosmetics. There are several types of shrink wrapping machine on the market, two of the most popular designs being L sealers and sleeve sealers.

Shrink wrap is a material made up of polymer plastic film. When heat is applied to this material it shrinks tightly over the object which it is covering. Shrink film packaging is commonly used as an overwrap on many types of products. A variety of products may be enclosed in shrink wrap to stabilize the products, keep them clean and add a degree of tamper resistance. Shrink wrap is applied over or around the intended item, often by automated equipment or shrink wrap sealers. It is then sent through a heat tunnel or oven for shrinking. Heat guns are also used for large items.
There are a variety of shrink wrapping machines available and they vary quite a lot in price. Smaller, portable machines are less expensive that the larger, electronic shrink wrapping machines which are used to seal items like letters and boxes either individually or in bulk. These shrink wrapping machines can be quite costly but have the ability to process hundreds of items an hour.
The type of shrink wrap machine that is required depends on the size of the item which needs to be wrapped and how quickly this needs to be done. Some machines are designed to package items small like CDs; other machines package large boxes. Some machines can package a few items an hour, others hundreds. The larger, faster machines must often be permanently installed, whereas the smaller, slower, and cheaper shrink wrap machines can be easily moved.
There are several types of shrink wrap sealers available on the market. Straight bar sealers for example, seal items like CDs, DVDs, and videotapes. A separate heat gun then shrinks the film. These can process only a few items per hour. L-Bar sealers on the other hand, seal and cut the film in one movement. Electricity, not heat, cuts the plastic, so the machines do not produce smoke. They use Polyolefin film. Mail bagging systems can order and pack several boxes. Continuous band sealers seal packages continuously and are useful for containing easily spilled items. Sleeve wrappers can handle many package shapes whereas vacuum sealers remove the air from a package before sealing it and passing it through a heat tunnel to shrink the film.
